Programma VinoVip Cortina

Two days at the center of the wine world, in a friendly and enthusiastic atmosphere, overlooking the most beautiful mountains in the world: the Dolomites. This is VinoVip Cortina. Here is the program for Sunday, July 14th and Monday, July 15th 2024.

Sunday

14th July

3:00 pm

Welcome guests

Talk show: Resistenza!

3:30 pm

A moment of reflection: leading industry experts and wine entrepreneurs discuss. Big topics and big players in a VinoVip “must”. This year, issues of particular importance for the survival of the “civilisation of drinking” will be tackled: from the prohibitionist tendencies of some states that deny the cultural value of wine and the freedom of individuals, to the best policies for resisting climate change that puts viticulture at risk in various parts of the world, to trade policies best suited to increasingly complex economic and geo-political scenarios.

During the talk show, the Khail 2024 Prize will be announced and presented, an award named after the founder of the magazine Civiltà del bere and destined for a person who has distinguished himself in the promotion of Italian wine in the world.

Cabernet Vs. Cabernet

9:00 am -1:30 pm

In the wake of the success of the “Vermentino Show” organised during VinoVip at Forte 2023, this year we are repeating the conference + tasting formula dedicated to a great grape variety, or rather two: the two Cabernets, Sauvignon and Franc. Considered to be at the pinnacle of world oenology, Cabernet has also in Italy experienced moments of glory and others of disaffection, but its greatness is evident, being the variety behind the success of some of the world’s most appreciated wines. The dialectic between the two ‘brothers’ is curious: if the Zero years were dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon, the Ten Years saw the meteoric rise of Cabernet Franc. But what are the differences between the two? We will investigate this in oenological and viticultural terms, with the involvement of leading experts in the field, and then we will put them to the sensory test, tasting excellent versions of one another and some particularly successful alliances between the two.
